In this lecture, author and podcaster Brent Robison and artist Wendy Drolma will teach you how to build a “chain of title” for your land, owner by owner, all the way back to the Native Americans. You’ll learn about colonial land patents and the tenant farmer system. You’ll learn to follow clues, like a “deed detective.” We’ll demonstrate the steps for using important websites, and discuss where to go for in-person research. We’ll show you the results of our own research, and introduce the concept of “allodial title.”
