Art Talk, conversations about art

Art Talk, conversations about art In-Person

The Rosendale Library is holding a bi-monthly discussion group: Art Talk, an engaging and interactive series of conversations about the visual arts, including the work of local artists. Thomas Sarrantonio, a Rosendale artist and retired Professor of Art at SUNY New Paltz will lead the discussions and invite local artists to come and talk about the work of their favorite artists. These sessions will dive into themes, styles, issues and ideas from both the history of art and contemporary art practice. The kickoff session will be a slide presentation to introduce how we talk about art, building a shared vocabulary  and discussing different ways of looking at art. Upcoming sessions will spotlight local artists sharing their creative journeys and inspiration.

Not a lecture series, this is intended to be a participatory exchange with lively conversation, shared observations and fresh perspectives. No artistic experience or knowledge required, just curiosity!
